When you see my face...

7:02 AM
...hope it gives you hell. Haha. I guess its pretty easy to figure out that my LSS is "Gives You Hell" by All American Rejects. AAR are pretty mainstream, but I like 'em anyway :))

So. Today's post is about nothing in particular.

I still believe in the power of the internet, but its just sad how a lot of people consider the confines of a social network (profile-photo-comment scheme) as what you'd call "life". That is really, really sad.

People are people. Let's not forget that.

Hindi na, hindi hindi...(sana nga)

9:51 PM

Bakit?!

Nakakahiya. Bakit kamo? Nagkacapitalize sila sa Western music at pilit na ginagawang 'atin' (or rather, 'kanila' kasi kumikita/sumisikat sila dun) and translating it was a really bad idea. I mean, copying the rhythm was bad enough, but translating it? And making a video with it? (I couldn't bare the Payong video) What the freak.

If you have plans of making your own versions of songs by the Pussycat Dolls, the next American Idol or whoever, think of people like Francis M., Eheads, The Dawn, APO, Bamboo and many more.

Wahehe. O sige sige. Bye for now. Spur of the moment blog post lang to. Wala kasing magawang productive.

Five Reasons Why I "Love" Having My Period.

9:39 PM

Gross, yes. That was why I had second thoughts of posting this. This is the type of topic that I would think about while my mind is to be found wandering in a different dimension as I endure the traffic in EDSA, something I would discuss to myself when I feel like talking to myself (which I do a lot especially when I'm trying to come up with things) or something I would write down on a piece paper which no other soul will see. It's funny and a little mental in a way to talk about appreciating the monthly female cycle but that's all there is to it. Pure appreciation. It's something new when you get to put deeper meaning to something such as the thickening and shedding of one's endometrial lining in the uterus therefore resulting in natural bleeding (oh yes gents, it gets more graphic along the way. read on for more) Let's get the parteyyy kickin'.

Uno. I 'love' having my period because it means that I'm physically mature. When I see a photo of myself from years back, I can't help but get amazed at how God designed the human body's form, each organ's function, how the brain works, how we grow and change. Everything about this body and this life. My monthly cycle is a clear sign that I've grown into an adolescent girl not far from adulthood. It's like a marker.

Dos. Having regular periods means that I am healthy. I don't really have to elaborate on this :)

Tres. Periods are the greatest excuse to get a little pissed off with people, throw a bitch fit and then blame it on hormones. But in all fairness, for the most part, this is true. Raging hormones is what I call it.

Quatro. On the subject of hormones, we ladies give estrogen and progesterone less credit than they deserve. We should be thankful to those two for the curves only females have and for helping in keeping things in the female body in balance.

Cinco. Lastly, I 'love' having my period because since I've referred to periods as markers, I get to understand that females do 'suffer' and endure more physically. Besides pregnancy and childbirth, having to bleed for days could be hassling and painful. If a man were to experience menstruation, he'd probably think he would run out of blood and die or have disorders in his circulation.

So you see girls, having your period is a blessing and we sometimes take it for granted although I do not necessarily ENJOY having it. You're probably laughing now asking yourselves what in this green earth was I thinking that I would blog about menstruation and its wonders. Laugh all you want. If you get to this part of the post, then thank you. It means you read the whole thing. I myself find it strange, gross and funny posting this, but what the heck. I'd rather do this than bore you out of your skull with politics and drown you with my prejudice against our good-for-nothing administration & sentiments about this nation still being in the brink of hope. I know you agree.

With that, I bid you adios, amigos. Have a fantastic summer.

Champagne from a Paper Cup

4:31 AM
It's either lack of sleep, radiation from spending too much time in front of the TV/PC or combination of both that's causing my head to feel strange the past two days. If I still had my iPod, my brain would probably be fried by now. By the way, the title is irrelevant to the content. I usually put the name of what I'm listening to if I couldn't think of a post title.

So today, I decided to abuse my gray matter a bit more and tried to squeeze out something to blog. My battered, juice-less brain attempted to give in to my demands.

*LONG, AWKWARD SILENCE*

Ehhh. I got nothing. Or maybe I do. What the heck.

They say its a positive thing to admit what's negative about yourself. I don't care how people would respond to this post but I'm sure those who know me (with enough respect not to tell it to my face) would probably agree with the next paragraph. But hey, they've accepted what I've got to offer, so I repeat: I couldn't care less. Everyone's happy, and stuff like this are just inevitable. I mean come on, who would take criticism in a jubilant manner? Even those who're prepared to hear one still puts on a defensive barrier. Human nature. But everything's a matter of acceptance (like the fact that I'll remain 5'3" in height for the rest of my earthly life when I was aiming to be at least 5'5")

Anyway, me and some of my elementary schoolmates have been dubbed kontrabida. Back in high school (which just ended last April. So di naman siya super long ago) I've been known to have a contradictory character (not paradoxically though; I'm a fan of logic. Haha) I'm a debater by nature, during decision-making situations; always looking for reasons, trying to keep my opinions on the down-low which would eventually find an escape route. The real negative thing about this trait: Sometimes my words get the best of me and combined with high emotions, I used to say the wrong things at the wrong time (like to my parents, schoolmates, to myself.)

I could think of more but that character of mine in terms of self-expression is the most distinct in my personality. I've asked a lot of people way back what they don't like about me and I wanted them to be brutally honest...and my being a kontrabida is really numero uno.

So with this, I want to say that with the help of high school experiences, my mother's relentless sermons on choosing my words and actions carefully, I could say that I learned. Yes, it took some time to sink in, but the point is I finally digested what I've been chewing...and then some.

I did a lot of thinking this summer break, reminiscing high school memories which are still quite fresh. I reflected...hard. Its like I had an internal makeover knowing that I have to let go of a lot of things since in a few days time, I'll be 17 and in college. Hindi lang yung kontrabida thing eh, its the entire idea of my past regrets, stupid mistakes and irresponsibility.

Know what? Not even this headache could rid me of how good I'm feeling right now after realizing I get to restart in a couple of days. I just wish I wouldn't die from inferiority complex on the first day of college.

Wonders of the Nuga Bed.

2:17 AM
I have scoliosis, right? What I find strange is that according to the x-ray result, its levo (curved to the left) but the doctor who examined me on my medical at UPLB said it looks more dextro (to the right), though her finding was based on physical observation.

Anyway, we went to my cousin's birthday last Sunday and my scolio was mentioned at some point during a conversation with a couple of our relatives. You should've seen their faces when they heard about my "disorder". They were probably imagining my spine is majorly distorted and that I might split in two any minute. (My aunts could get extreme sometimes.)

One of my mom's aunts invited me to go with her to get my back treated somewhere called Nuga Best.

It originated in Korea and they expose your body to accu-pressure therapy using a Nuga bed; basically this is a thermal massage machine. The cool thing about the bed is that they use jade stones. The massage bed aligns your spine (ta-dah. Thus, could be a possible treatment for my scolio) and because of the heat, could soothe pain. The induced heat with 7-10cm of penetration in the body have also been proven to be therapeutic. My aunt also told me that some people who had scoliosis there got their backs corrected.

The treatment is free and you could go there everyday if you wish. The Nuga center had lots of old people there, but kids were also present. I decided to give it a try yesterday, and I would definitely come back again until the first sem starts. The machine felt so good rolling on your back and the heat was totally relaxing. My body was in complete Zen yesterday and I had about 10 hours of undisturbed sleep when I came home.

It's a weird experience, really. But how often could you get a back massage for free that you could enjoy everyday? :)

*********************************

Okay, different post. About a week ago, I was watching TMZ on JackTv and saw a report on Kristy Lee Cook that I found hilarious and humiliating. She was on her way to a nail salon and called the lady watching the shop. Kristy asked if she could go through the backdoor. Why? Because she was "afraid of being mobbed by her fans."

LMAO. Riiiight.

So anyway, the lady (WHO DOESN'T EVEN WATCH AMERICAN IDOL) said that she could just go through the front door 'cause there was only person at the salon that day. Bwahahaha.

XY Goodness.

3:08 AM
I won't post about Cook's victory since I'm 100% positive that the rest of the world already knows how good he is and how hot he looked on that Nokia Theater stage. Instead, I'll just post a list about my celeb crushes. HAHAHA. I was bored, sorry :) (WARNING: SLIGHTLY LONG POST)

1. DAVID COOK- Its not that I don't think Archuleta isn't talented, but there's really something missing. DC is edgy and doesn't need any major polishing. He's clever and it shows through his song choices. He looks scruffy, and scruffy is always a good thing...that is if you can back it up with a kick-ass voice like he does. Cook's the shizz.

2. JOHNNY DEPP- the only films of his that I haven't watched are (shamefully) Sweeney Todd and Danny Brasco. Johnny's got this dark aura that Tim Burton turned into art (you go Tim!). He simply looks good on screen and he really plays the part. Fave Depp movies include Pirates trilogy, Sleepy Hollow, What's Eating Gilbert Grape and Edward Scissorhands :)

3. MONG ALCARAZ- Miguel Crisostomo Pervera Alcaraz. My high school classmates know how crazy I am for Mong. He's a great guitarist with an equally great wardrobe and set of music merch. He's from Ateneo (so it means he's smart...and rich. Aha. Score.), and there's just something about him that makes me jump around like a 7-year-old everytime I see a photo or a video. He's my standard for the ideal guy. Owyes. Yung ipapakilala ko sa parents ko at papakasalan. Someone send me to some foundation and let me see him perform live. I definitely need to transfer to Manila after one year in LB. Hahaha :)

4. JIMMY PAGE- Get the Led out! Yes. Jimmy Page looked dashing back in the day. If I lived during their glory days, I would have it bad for Jimmy. Insane guitarist, insane band, insane hair.

5. JOHN MAYER- I became a fan when I heard his Continuum album. Not as insane as J.Page, but with the I-just-got-out-of-bed look, and a heartmelting voice, he scores a thumbs up from me. And Jennifer Aniston.

6. JOHN LENNON- Why? Simply because he's John Lennon. Self-explanatory. (Ganyan siya kalupet)

7. KEANU REEVES- I first saw him in Speed, and we watched it back when VHS was still the king of home entertainment. Most defining role? As Neo of course. Heck, who wouldn't call it defining if you earned gazillions of dollars from doing one of the biggest digital films (not to mention a trilogy) mankind has ever seen? That black leather suit just turns you on. (wtf, ftw!)

8. ELY BUENDIA- The guy's a genius. That should hit the jackpot.

9. SHIA LABEOUF- Hooray for Shia. Lots of movie deals lately and he's finally turned into a man. Haha. Attaboy.

10. ADAM SANDLER- aside from Johnny Depp, my favorite flicks have Adam Sandler in it. He's good at what he does definitely making him a brilliant comedian. Plus, having a great sense of humor's always a hot thing. Right? :)

11. RYAN AGONCILLO- Bakit ba. Haha. I like Ryan. I don't think he's a cheesy actor.

I just realized that this list relfects the type of guys that I dig. Either they're musicians (#s 1,3,4,5,6,8), with scrawny get-ups and dark messy hair (all of them), or has the bad boy first impression with underlying sweet guy tendencies (#s 1,2,3,7) Ah whatever. Wala namang blonde dito sa Pilipinas so I'm bound to hook up with someone who in one way or another, would bear one of these dudes features. Haha.

Dream on Patricia, dream on.
